Welcoming Nessie Croft to the Soft Serve Family

We’re beyond excited to have Nessie join the Soft Serve family as Technical Developer. Not only is Nessie a rockstar designer and pattern maker but Co-founder of responsible fashion practice Corepret. We pulled Nessie away from the pattern table for a couple of minutes and see what she’s working on.

TELL US ABOUT WHAT YOU”RE WORKING ON, IT’S LOOKING AWESOME
Thanks! I'm working on this pattern for a new waist pack, it's a mix of proud boxy shapes and really appointed details - And right now, I'm just working out the best angle to fix the main strap.

WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO TODAY?
Wardrobe Crisis by Clair Press. It's an amazing podcast where Clair interviews guest from fashion world on ethics, the environment and sustainability. This episode is with Claire Bergkamp from Stella McCartney. It's all about rethinking traditional supply chains and working with ethically responsible and circular materials - Concepts integral to our work at Corepret.

CAN YOU TELL US WHAT’S HAPPENING AT COREPRET?
We’re working on our next project to release in Spring this year, a semi tailored pant. The product itself is really simple but the thinking at the front end and back end is all new - From fibre to finish. It's all about exploring gender equity in the workplace, how to be more ethical, responsible and circular in the design and it’ll inform our business moving forward.

LIKE GETTING B-CORP CERTIFICATION?
Exactly, there's an amazing B-Corp event in a couple of weeks by the way, all about how businesses play a critical role is solving the planets problems - Environmental and social. It's at the Patagonia store in Torquay on the 6th of August.

Just added to the calendar,
Thanks Nessie!
