the future of the past

There’s something unsettling about the overlapping of futuristic innovation and retro-futurism that’s occurring this year.

2019 marks the 50th anniversary of the moon landing which has sparked a number of collaborations. This year we’ve also noticed an increase in the amount of chemical innovation working its way into new products in a way that feels straight from the NASA labs. Dyneema, Titanium, Graphine and other future tech were all on show at the recent Summer OR. Combine this with the trend toward metallic and transparent finishes, it’s all starting to feel a bit Blade Runner to us.
