A flagship line of sleepwear and bedding, developed for the Sydney based startup FLIPKIP.
Mulberry silk is renowned for its smoothness and hypoallergenic properties. In bedding it is ideal for reducing hair friction, preventing tangles, and maintaining skin hydration. FLIPKIP’s mixed material concept combines the health benefits of silk with high quality flax linen to create a range that is also durable and breathable. Linen’s natural cooling properties and strength complement the silk perfectly, resulting in a versatile product. By flipping their pillow, customers can pick and choose between the different feel and finish of each material.
Released in a collection of 5 colours, the debut FLIPKIP pillowcase exceeded expectations. The product’s level of quality and detail have quickly gained the brand a following in a crowded and competitive environment.
As with all bedding, material quality was fundamental to FlipKip’s success. Therefore, establishing a strong network of premium producers was a primary focus from the beginning. Through rigorous sourcing and testing, we identified key supply partners across both materials. Chosen not only for their consistency, quality and cost, but also their ability to meet the ethical standards set by the brand.
Integrating the two distinctly different materials presented another set of technical challenges. The reinforced stitching details across the range are the result of close collaboration with manufacturing partners. Through collaborative development and extensive product testing we ensure each product’s durability and longevity.
